Have you ever heard of the Phaistos Disk? This is one of the oldest cryptic messages discovered in our modern times, and to date is still not completely solved. Scientists and linguists have been trying to decipher this disk since it was first discovered in 1908 on the Greek island of Crete. The disk is 16cm in diameter and is dated to be about 4000 years old.
The Phaistos Disk contains 242 symbols, of which 45 are unique. These symbols are extremely detailed and distinct. Theories about its meaning have ranged from originating from the lost city of Atlantis, or representing some kind of astrological calendar, or possibly even being a prayer to a Minoan goddess.
